Netflix’s Dead To Me – Series Review

Netflix's Dead To Me - Series Review

New series named Dead To Me, starring Christina Applegate, released on Netflix this past weekend and I have your series review!  Check it out with video!

This past weekend Netflix dropped its new series Dead To Me and the reviews are in, this is a show you won’t want to miss!  People have already been talking about it across social media and for good reason, this dark comedy is full of twists and turns and crazy surprises.  If you haven’t seen my review on YouTube yet, check it out below!

The Story

The story follows Jen played by Christina Applegate, who recently lost her husband in a hit and run and she attended a “Widowers Group.”  Jen is a hard-nose, straight forward type that does not want sympathy or baked goods and “sorry for your loss” and she doesn’t seem to want advice at the grieving support groups that she attended. Jen does however befriend Judy (Linda Cardellini) in the support group and together they are comedy in a nutshell!  Although Judy is not all that she seems, a little cooky with hidden secrets after secrets revealed in the course of the first season.

Dark, Easy To Watch Comedy

The show series consists of 10 episode with each episode being about 30 minutes long.  It is an easy binge-able show that will keep you on your toes with its twists and turns all throughout.  And the comedy is genius, like when the two women decide to attend a weekend getaway for “mourners” and both somehow hook up with other grieving men attended the getaway.  Although on par with the show, nothing in the plot ever turns out like you think it will.

Rating & Overall Thoughts

Rating: 4 out of 5

While there are a few moments within the series that lull, overall it was a highly enjoyable show that is worth checking out!  I enjoyed the plot, the chemistry Applegate and Cardellini had on screen and the unpredictable-ness.  Season 1 is NOW playing on Netflix and I have a feeling this is a Netflix original series that will be around for awhile.
